Even just one of these problems can compromise a system and require very expensive interventions if not solved immediately. Therefore, it is very important to constantly monitor the health of the system with an appropriate maintenance program. 

Among the first things to check when an AC/R system is not working there are refrigerants’ leaks: they do not only damage the environment but are very expensive for the owner. Indeed, they compromise the system and affect its longevity and its performance. 

In addition, since 2015 with the F-Gas regulation (1), the European Union has imposed the EU regulation’s adoption and the elaboration of laws about refrigerant leaks repairs on its member states. Italian’s implementation took place in 2018 (nr. 146/2018) and in 2019 (nr. 163/2019). The last one describes the penalties for those who don’t respect such laws.

In some cases, repairing refrigerant leaks is an urgency that cannot be postponed. For example, AC/R systems in the HO.RE.CA sector (hotel, restaurant & café sector), refrigerators in the large-scale retail trade, cold rooms for the storage of food and medicines, air conditioning systems in structures that never stop (such as hospitals), demand rapid and decisive interventions that do not require a long shutdown of the system. 

Through our many years of experience in the field of additives we have specialized in formulating products to repair leaks both from outside and inside the system.  

External and FixQuick are the leak stops to repair refrigerant leaks from the outside without the necessity of shutting the system down. 

External is a bicomponent paste that via its application on the metal and rubber components of AC/R system repairs leaks up to 5 mm. External has a strong resistance to lubricants, additives and refrigerants and withstands up to temperature changes ensuring a permanent repair. Errecom has also developed External P version, designed for plastic components of AC/R systems and hydraulic applications. 

When repairs are extremely urgent and it is not possible to wait for 24 hours as required by External (as in the case of air conditioning systems in hospitals, refrigerators in supermarkets and in the large-scale retail trade, etc.) a product that acts even faster and ensures permanent repair is necessary. FixQuick is Errecom’s answer. The new ultra-fast leak stop has been specifically designed to repair leaks up to 1 mm in diameter in 20 minutes on flat and curved metal and plastic, withstanding up to 20 Bar (20 minutes to guarantee a seal up to 50 Bar). In addition, its fluorescent formulation makes it easy to locate the repair with the use of an UV lamp, and to protect the technician from any dispute caused by future leaks of the system in different areas than the repaired one.

When you want to repair refrigerant leaks from inside the system, Extreme Ultra and Extreme Ultra White (specific for refrigerators with hermetic compressor) are the additive leak stops that permanently repair micro leaks in AC/R systems. The insertion with cartridge – Errecom’s icon – allows to insert into the system the right dose of additive in an easy and precise way, avoiding any waste. The 6 ml syringe is the universal dose for all vehicle A/C systems and for AC/R systems up to 21KW or 700 mL of compressor lubricant.
