International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies: Errecom’s commitment to the environment
From research conducted by the World Health Organization, shocking data emerges: air pollution kills an estimated seven million people worldwide every year. Acute respiratory infections, stroke, heart disease, and lung cancer are among the main causes of mortality in countries with high levels of air pollution.
Among the most significant emissions are those of CO2, which, in the United States alone in 2017, were recorded as 82% of total greenhouse gas emissions. Their release into the atmosphere has a devastating impact on the planet, not only in terms of potential human diseases but also as far as it concerns global warming and climate change.
Rising carbon dioxide levels create imbalances in the nutrients needed by crops, such as iron, zinc, and protein, threatening to irreparably damage harvests for entire seasons.
Not to mention the rise of the average global temperature which, as we have unfortunately seen in the last months, causes extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, severe drought, fires, and tropical storms.
Since the international community realized we are all living a true climate crisis, different aspects of daily life have come under the magnifying glass.
The food industry and fast fashion are among the hardest investigated sectors, but also the effects of traffic, energy production facilities, heating, etc. are crucial.
All of us, from private to companies, are responsible for doing something and changing our habits to protect the environment.
Errecom’s commitment to the environment is nothing new but a purpose that the company has pursued since the beginning of its history. Some instances? The choice of biodegradable raw materials and eco-sustainable packaging, together with the development of innovative products to prevent refrigerant gas leaks from occurring in AC/R systems and optimise the performance of the systems themselves over time.
Just think of Extreme Ultra (the world-renowned leak stop developed by Errecom), or the additives which improve the energy efficiency of systems, reducing the impact they have on our planet. Or finally, the cleaners and disinfectants that improve the quality of the air we breathe indoors.
