All around Europe, Governments have established measures to adopt if a student, teacher or school staff member shows the first symptoms of the disease.

As reported by BBC (1), primary and secondary schools across the U.K. have put in loads measures to handle the situation. If it looks like a student or staff member could be infected, they’ll need to be tested to confirm whether or not they have the virus. Lessons for the rest of the pupils will carry on as normal. If the person ends up testing positive, self-isolation is necessary: NHS test and trace system team will contact positive people to find out their recent contacts.

The Spanish journal La Vanguardia (2) describes in detail the measures developed by the Government to manage infections. If there is a suspect case, the student will be accompanied in a dedicated room for a temporary isolation and will be tested to confirm the presence of virus and lessons will continue as normal. If the test is positive, both teacher and classmates will undergo the test and – regardless of the result – they will remain isolated for 14 days, and pupils will receive distance learning lessons.

According to Le Monde (3), in France school staff member positive for SARS-CoV-2, or the parent of an infected child, must notify the test result without delay to the headmaster of the school. Then, the principal informs the educational authorities, who contact the regional health agency (ARS). He or she also draws up a list of people likely to be “contact cases at risk” of the infected person, who will only be able to return to school after approval from the health authorities. The health authorities will also investigate in order to confirm the “risk contact cases” who are to be tested and isolated while awaiting the results.

The cooperation of each citizen is a fundamental contribution to prevention.

One of the fundamental rules – in addition to social distancing and the correct use of masks – is to frequently sanitize hands with effective products.

Over the yearsour experience in the field of sanitizers has led to the creation of SaniHands, the answer made in Errecom for effectivequick and safe hand hygiene. In factits formulation follows the WHO guidelines and guarantees deep hand hygieneeven in the absence of water. Moreoverthanks to the emollients, SaniHands leaves hands soft to the touch; the absence of allergens allows frequent use even on the most delicate skin such as one of the children.
