Errecom Refrigeration Lubricants for eco-friendly refrigerants

Toughening up on refrigerants in 2020: the AC/R world must also adapt to the new requirements dictated by the environmental emergency. Errecom predicted this change years ago, and thanks to that, today, the international market can enjoy the benefits of our work.

A few weeks ago, California contributed to the innovation and sustainability of its country, introducing new rules to reduce HFC emissions and, once again, presenting itself as a model to be followed in environmental matters.

California is known worldwide for being the most environmentally committed of the 50 states in America: car sharing, incentives for electric cars, a city, San Francisco, declared the most sustainable capital in North America. It is not surprising then, to discover that, even in the world of AC/R, California is the first country in the States to prohibit the use of refrigerants considered harmful to the environment.
The new rules approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) affect a wide range of situations: from manufacturers to final consumers, from supermarkets to ice skating rinks, etc.

Anyway, what looks like a significant change in the USA is an established rule in Europe: the F-Gas Regulation, which is constantly being revised. AREA’s position about the revision of the F-Gas Regulation is pretty clear.
Even though this regulation has shown its potential in terms of benefits for the environment, AREA claims that it’s quite evident that some aspects need to be improved. For instance, technicians should fill the skill gap to overcome the obstacles they meet dealing with alternative refrigerants.

Errecom, as a company known for its environmental commitment, on this occasion too proves to be one step ahead.
Our refrigeration lubricants are recognised worldwide as products suitable for systems that use refrigerants with low environmental impact. They come from an immense work of research and development, carried out and consolidated by our laboratory over the years. The quality of our refrigeration lubricants has been recognised by experts on several occasions, first of all by compressor manufacturers, through the OEM approved label.

Undoubtedly there is still a long way to go in terms of sustainability: the environmental emergency is a reality and a duty for all of us that must be managed without wasting any more time. Errecom is thrilled to see California taking a position on refrigerants. We are sure that, to quote Christina Starr, senior policy analyst at EIA, “this regulation sets a higher bar for other states and the Biden administration to follow”. Besides, we hope that now, overseas too, technicians will benefit from the quality of our lubricants.

Aware that innovation is a never-ending process, Errecom is ready to evolve further and make its know-how available to the international community, always respecting the environment.
