What is the path that led you to become CEO of Errecom SPA?<\/strong><\/p><p>The path that led me to become CEO of Errecom SPA began several years ago: I founded this company with my brother when I was 18 years old. I followed Errecom evolution from 2001 to today: I was there when the first product was invented and I am working to develop those that will be ready in 2022.<br \/>Along the way, I overcame several challenges thanks to my firmness and foresight. For example, I found a way to meet the increasing demand of the market, by automatizing our production processes. Also, I had to learn how to lead a constantly growing staff of people. In the last 19 years, I have travelled almost all over the world: to create direct relationships with our customers, to participate in trade fairs, to visit the production sites of our most important suppliers, verifying their processes, and learning the know-how that I then implemented in Errecom. If you asked me what stands behind my professional path I would say \u201cexperience.\u201d I realise being the CEO of a company like Errecom is such a big goal to achieve and for sure I have to thank the foreign partners I collaborate with, and the skills I got the chances to acquire along the way.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Being the technical director for a versatile company like Errecom requires, among others, organisational and problem-solving skills, leadership, flexibility, and vision. Which ones are your attitudes and which ones did you have to learn by working in the field?<\/strong><\/p><p>I agree, these are must-have skills for a technical director. I was very young when I started my adventure in Errecom and, by then, I didn\u2019t know myself that deeply. It was only by working in the field that I realised which ones were my natural attitudes and which ones not. An example? I am a problem solver since I have memories. I strongly believe that it doesn\u2019t matter how big a challenge is: everything has a solution!<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>What kind of innovation projects have you developed in Errecom? Which are the professional goals you are most proud of?<\/strong><\/p><p>Errecom is an extremely outstanding company and I am very proud to state that I have planned every innovative action linked to the productive field. All of them contributed to define the company\u2019s success on the market, guaranteeing our product\u2019s quality and our delivery\u2019s lead-time. Some examples? The first machine, purchased in 2001, the development of our R&amp;D Department, or the new fully automated production line that will be installed in 2021.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Do you have any future projects you would like to share with us?<\/strong><\/p><p>Since 2017, we are working on the Industry 4.0 project, but we are constantly evolving and there is still a long way to go. I strongly believe that Errecom\u2019s future will be characterized by an extreme level of automation that, at the same time, won\u2019t affect its flexibility. Our goals for the upcoming years are to optimise production processes and improve management software. The new projects we are developing will allow better management of Errecom\u2019s international branches: from the one in the U.S.A. (opened in 2018) to the ones that will open in the future, like the UAE branch, in 2021.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>We know that during the pandemic Errecom increased its production of sanitiser to meet the growing market demand. How did you manage the increasing production activity with the essential need to protect workers&#8217; health?<\/strong><\/p><p>To be honest, the situation was pretty complicated to manage. We had to introduce new procedures and adopt safe behaviours, but the governments\u2019 guidelines were not clear and media information was too often contradictory. We didn\u2019t know what kind of product we had to use, to properly sanitising offices, plants, and laboratories. Luckily, Errecom is a chemical company, with a lot of experience in the production of disinfectants and sanitisers. Thanks to our chemists\u2019 know-how, we ended up making more informed choices and picking proper products, ensuring our people a safe environment to work in. In the end, we reorganised spaces and rhythms production and we worked 24 hours a day, 6 days a week, satisfying the growing market demand.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Sustainability is one of Errecom&#8217;s most important values. What does it mean for you, as Errecom CEO and Technical Director? What strategic actions have you taken to lead the R&amp;D Department in this direction?<\/strong><\/p><p>As the technical director of Errecom, I am proud to say that we are replacing obsolete raw materials with more biodegradable ones, that have a low environmental impact. Moreover, for some years now we have established an essential condition: Errecom products must be studied and developed to minimize their risk for the environment, people, and animals. Also, we are reducing the use of plastic packaging by replacing it, when possible, with other eco-friendly materials. However, I would like to underline that the plastic packaging we are still using is made from 98% recycled material.<br \/>Finally, I would like to add that Errecom&#8217;s focus on the environment does not only reflect in its products: thanks to investments in automation and digitisation, we aim to eliminate the use of paper in our production and management processes by the beginning of 2022.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>We know about your passion for new trends. How does this attitude of yours lead Errecom to be the point of reference for the market?<\/strong><\/p><p>My personality and lifestyle have an inevitable impact on all the innovative and strategic actions I took for the company. You can tell Errecom is a role model for the market by the countless attempts of imitations: our competitors always try to copy our innovative solutions.<br \/>Our products are developed to be 100% innovative: for us, it\u2019s not only a matter of effective formulas but also of design. Errecom is, of course, a chemical company but if we are the point of reference for the market is also thanks to the efforts we put in terms of marketing. I am talking about the focus we put on every day to keep our packaging constantly attractive or the international communication we manage day by day, to empathize with our customers.<br \/>The world is constantly changing: there is no way we can sell today the same product we used to sell 5 years ago. Errecom\u2019s products are not meant to be outdated or obsolete: our goal is to be one step ahead, always.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>You are also the American market\u2019s representative for Errecom: is it linked to your passion for America? Or did the branch in Miami need a technical expert to supervise such a competitive market?<\/strong><\/p><p>The first time I\u2019ve visited the United States I was 18 and thanks to Errecom I had the chance to go back countless times. To me, America is a very fascinating country that has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. Anyway, the American market is facing a crucial change right now: the urgent need to reduce the environmental impact of greenhouse gases requires someone like me, with great technical knowledge. The next step would be creating a skilled staff and I can tell we are on the right path. 2020 has been a tough year but ERRECOM USA LLC managed to double its turnover. Don\u2019t you think this is proof that we are going in the right direction?<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Let&#8217;s talk about the future. How do you see yourself in 10 years? And what about Errecom?<\/strong><\/p><p>I am pretty sure that Errecom\u2019s internationalization process will evolve further in the future, without compromising the reliability of its products. We plan to increase the number of international branches, guaranteeing an immediate and precise service to our most distant customers. On the other hand, we intend to maintain the production in Italy, at least for the most part. We would never give up our Made in Italy production: it is something we are too proud of, that has characterized Errecom products until now. And we know it is an added value for our customers as well.<br \/>As for me, in ten years I will be doing the same: looking for innovative solutions to improve our products and production processes. Hopefully, by then I\u2019ll have more people and technologies located in different countries at my disposal.
