That is where our desire comes from: we need you to know our faces, our looks, our beliefs.

Let’s start today then: what you are about to read is an interview with Luca Ronga, Founder & President of Errecom Spa, who is about to turn 50 years old soon. And who else could be a better candidate to talk about Errecom and its people’s story?

As Litizzetto – a famous Italian comedian – would say, turning 50 years old is a big deal. How do you feel about that? You have achieved such important professional goals.

First of all, I want to underline I have not turned 50 years old yet… my birthday will be in a few days. I believe that, when we talk about life, there are no goals, but stage finishes, instead. I like to look at these as new beginnings, always more ambitious and challenging, that push you to go on, with the desire and enthusiasm of discovering where your path will lead you to. Honestly, I think that if I am here today, it’s also thanks to fate. I started my job career as a tire dealer, selling o’rings and I ended up becoming a chemist. Seriously, I feel like I could do anything I want to!

Turning 50 seems to be such a big deal for a man, even though, in your case, it sounds more like a new beginning. Isn’t it?

Definitely yes, you are right. Every time I go to work, I have a new idea in my head, a new project, a new goal. For superstition, I can’t anticipate anything, even if some ideas will soon be realized. Well, actually there is one thing I can anticipate: in 2021 Errecom Middle East will be operational, a new Errecom branch in the free zone of Dubai, which together with the one in Miami will allow us to be even closer to the southern hemisphere markets. We will offer an even better service to our partners and customers from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, South Africa etc. In this way, we will be able to cut delivery time considerably and to take advantage of the opportunities we could not exploit before. With this in mind, we have recently hired a native Arabic-speaker to follow this project.

There are other challenges I have in mind that have nothing to do with the current working environment, but these are really top secret. I will apply my model of entrepreneurial madness to other projects because, after all, I have fun and I believe that there is nothing more beautiful than finding joy while doing your job. I am sure we will see pretty interesting things!

In your professional life, what are you most proud of? What are the most important results you think you have achieved so far? As an entrepreneur, is there anything that you haven’t achieved yet and that you are aiming at for the future?

The thing I wanted most was to build a well-known brand because for me business is about that, not about money. If you are able to run a good business, profit is generated, as a consequence. But building a brand is something more. Today, Errecom is a brand recognized worldwide and this is also thanks to the important marketing work that we have carried out with perseverance and determination in recent years. I am proud to confirm that our leakstop for AC/R systems is world-renowned.

Errecom is the model to imitate. That is why the market always expects from us the new idea, the solution to the problem, the breaking point. And we work every day to be always one step ahead (or even two or three)!

There is one thing I would like to tell you: I love my job! It is a source of fun, energy, and creativity: isn’t that great?

The other thing I care a lot about is training. The market is still very sceptical about using some of our products due to a lack of knowledge. They don’t know how they work and, probably, they have had negative experiences with similar products on the market. Therefore, they are afraid to put them in AC/R systems. We are working a lot on this aspect through webinars, tutorials, manuals. Additionally, we are collaborating with compressors and air conditioning and refrigeration systems manufacturers that approve the use of our products in their systems, guaranteeing the quality and the result. But it is a long process that requires constancy, skills, and patience in order to overcome scepticism. For this reason, one of the next projects is Errecom Academy, which will offer our technicians and our business partners to come directly to the company, follow a training course with our experts and get all the information they need to do their job in the best possible way.

Furthermore, there are still a lot of things I have in mind. For example, I would like to be able to create a company that can guarantee a better work-life balance, allowing my employees to work with serenity. For instance, I am thinking of a nursery for parents that every day has to face the problem of managing their children, a gym where employees can spend a part of the lunch break, a cafeteria where they can find quality food. At this moment, they are only projects due to a lack of space, but I hope to be able to realize them soon.

We know that one of your favourite mottos is: “There is no second chance to make a good first impression”. This reveals how important is for you to be considered immediately credible. Is that so? We assume you believe is necessary giving immediately the right answer to the client’s need. Are we right?

This motto is like a mantra to me. I’ve heard it for the first time ten years ago, from a person who came to Errecom to present a project. During this meeting, I was so impressed by his charisma that I told him and he replied: “Do you know why I amazed you? Because there is no second chance to make a good first impression”. He was right. In our daily life, we often underestimate this aspect. For instance, if you go to a restaurant and you’re not happy with the service, you don’t go back there again. If you meet someone who is not credible, you will hardly share anything with him/her.

Business works in the same way. When you first introduce yourself to clients, you have to be convincing right away to make them listen to you. You can’t be credible the next time, because there won’t be a next time.

I often use this motto during job interviews. You have to play it all in that moment. Honestly, it makes me angry when I see that many times young people lack the will and determination to get straight to the goal.

Let me tell you something. Early on in my career, in 1997, I managed to get an appointment with the manager of Würth. I wanted to sell him my o’rings. I knew that I only had one shot and that I had to score with that one. No second chances. At the end of the meeting, I had no idea of how it went. A few months later, however, my phone rang and he was that manager: he was the first one ordering my o’rings. I had hit the target!

We know about your obsession with details, both in your private and working life. From the lawn always shaved like a rug in front of Errecom’s headquarters to the product’s packaging, from the uniform worn by the production staff to the white floor of the warehouse or the cleaning lady who takes care of the offices several times a day. It’s not just a question of aesthetics, is it?

Yes, it’s not just a question of aesthetics. I strongly believe that confusion reflects an inner imbalance while order, instead, means balance. This is who I am. Even when I am at home, you will always find me neat and in perfect shape. If not, you better start worrying.

At Errecom, I demand the same order and cleanliness. If everything is in order, it means that everything is fine, that there is balance and this brings serenity both to employees and guests.

When you visit Errecom for the first time, several things could impress you, and they go beyond our products and services. For example, restrooms are very elegant and always clean: they look like the ones you find in wellness centers. All the details are calculated with precision: like the elegant sofa and the soft LED lights you can find in our relaxation area.

When I designed it, my goal was to create a space where my collaborators could disconnect from the stress, even if only for a few minutes. And this would not be possible in a place with high beam lights or a rigid seat.

I designed our restrooms following the same concept: I want my employees, customers and suppliers to feel that we care about their wellness.

This is my lifestyle and it means a lot to me that those who stand by me and have my trust feel welcomed. I hope people appreciate my way of thinking. Of course, there is more we can do, but I am sure we are on the right path.

Speaking of wellness and health: the pandemic that broke out in February has tested all of us, not only our lifestyle but our working life too. Errecom has never stopped, also because having a chemical laboratory and an internal Research and Development center it has been able to continue to supply the market with sanitizers. Has coronavirus impacted the company somehow? What has it brought in terms of change?

The health emergency that hit us and that we still are experiencing has put us in a position to show ourselves and the market that things like flexibility, dynamism, and foresight really mean something.

When the emergency broke out, I recognized the business opportunity that lied in surface and environment sanitizer products. I was happy to take the risk because I knew I was offering a service to the community. Until the lockdown, this kind of production was marginal for us.

In February I decided to maximize it. There weren’t clear guidelines, so, I defined a strict internal protocol with transparent rules of conduct and I secured the company and my employees by providing them with masks, sanitizers, disinfectants, and free serological tests. To be honest, the situation was very stressful at the beginning: people were afraid of this virus and the fact we didn’t know anything about that didn’t help.

Anyway then, the team reacted and thanks to my stubbornness and the professionalism and determination of each one, not only we have never closed and we also allowed the companies in our industry to continue to work, but we even achieved higher than expected turnovers and even online sales have skyrocketed. Our sanitizers and disinfectants supplied hospital and nursing home aisles, sanitized the homes and air conditioning systems of thousands of people, and allowed store, restaurant and bar managers to reopen their businesses. We helped the local community, by donating our products to volunteers, parishes and neighbouring municipalities.

We have worked with self-sacrifice and mad pace juggling customs difficulties and transport stops. We have created new products, modified our communication, increased our online services. We have been faithful and present partners of our distributors. We have made webinars and training courses to better explain how to use our products. We have collaborated with associations and specialists. It was crazy but we came out victorious and, once again, we have been a source of inspiration.

We know that your daughter’s name is Anna and you are very close to her. She was born on 12/12/12. She has been the source of inspiration that has led you to create a new line of environment fragrances: AnnaTwelve. Can you tell us something more about that? It is not only the number 12 that suggested this choice, is it?

I am not simply close to Anna, the truth is that I am madly in love with my daughter. She taught me the purest and most immense form of love: the one that only a parent knows. My greatest desire is to be part of her life as long as possible. So I asked myself: “How can I leave her an unforgettable memory of my love that goes beyond time?” AnnaTwelve is my answer, thinking that one day when she will take over my job position (if she wants) she will be able to answer that for herself.

I believe a lot in this brand and I will do everything I can to make it grow and develop into a unique and precious gift for Anna. When she will be an adult, AnnaTwelve will be hers and she will decide what to do with it.

You care a lot about the environment too. We know that you are a big fan of environmental sustainability, recycling, etc. How do you apply these values to your company? Can you promote them within Errecom too?

Environmental sustainability is one of the core values of Errecom and you can see it in our daily habits and strategic decisions too. For instance, I ask my employees to print only if it is strictly necessary and when possible, I want the paper to be reused. Waste is sorted. We are replacing our old plastic packaging with recycled cardboards: in this way, our new products will be environmentally friendly in terms of packaging. Besides, we formulate our products with more biodegradable raw materials. Another example could be the electricity columns we installed in our parking lot.

Without forgetting that Errecom’s flagship product is Extreme Ultra, the leakstop for air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Refrigerant gas leaks are one of the main causes of the greenhouse effect and, guess what, with Errecom products you can restore the efficiency of AC/R systems, which means better performance and reduced energy consumption.

Speaking of passions. We know that you love sports and that you are a huge fan of the Brescia soccer team. We also know that you love running and playing golf and that you have a strong passion for motors. Well, can sport be considered a metaphor for your life and professional goals? How important is it in your daily life?

First of all, I believe that if I weren’t passionate about my job, we wouldn’t be here today. I think that passion is the engine that drives our choices.

Talking about sports, instead, I would say that the individual ones, such as running, really reflect my way of living. When you run, you are your only limit. You don’t give up, you endure fatigue and pain to get to the finish line and overcome it. And once you have crossed it, you start all over again. That’s me, in life as in work. I am never satisfied. I believe there is always room for improvement. You can always do better. This does not mean that I am an eternal dissatisfied, but that I am a person fascinated by perfection.

One last question, Luca. Creativity, well-being, quality. Which of these three concepts best expresses your business idea? Which one is so important that you can’t give up? Do you have any other values in mind you would like to tell us about?

When I say wellness, I mean having fun while working and do so in a peaceful atmosphere. Additionally, I think by now you know me: I am a creative person, I couldn’t be otherwise. Quality? Well, I consider it a basic concept, that is why I take it for granted. Without quality, you don’t survive. I would certainly add passion and I have already told you why. Another thing I find very important is to choose your collaborators: because it is fundamental to surround yourself with the right people, with whom you are in tune and who make you feel at ease. Alone you’re not going anywhere. But what I would never give up is having fun doing what I do. If I didn’t have fun, we wouldn’t be here today, because I could never do something I don’t enjoy.

I hope I have answered all your questions. I suggest staying in touch with us, especially if you want to be part of this fascinating adventure of ours!
Have a great day you all!

Our desire is to let you know about our people’s stories because they are the ones who, working with … Luca Ronga: Founder and President of Errecom Our desire is to let you know about our people’s stories because they are the ones who, working with passion and professionalism, adjust their skills to the […]

[150
["post-15750","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-behind-the-scenes
["GET
